Meet the Doctors
Peter E. Seymour, MD, FACS
Dr Seymour joined Family ENT in August of 2024 after practicing in nearby Massachusetts for nearly 15 years. During his time there he served on the board of trustees at his local hospital, the board of the Massachusetts Otolaryngology Society (MSO) and was recognized as a “Top Doc” by Northshore Magazine in each of the last 6 years.
He is originally from Northern New York State and was admitted as a high school senior to the Siena College/Albany Medical College Science and Humanities Program, a joint acceptance program and the first of its kind in the country. It places emphasis on humanities, ethics and social service. During his time in this prestigious program, he served on extensive volunteer missions locally as well as in Grenada and Western Samoa. Upon completion of medical school, he was selected for the otolaryngology program at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He served as chief resident during his fifth year of training. This was followed by a 1-year Otology fellowship for additional specialization in medical and surgical therapy for disease of the ear under the tutelage of Dr Micheal Teixido at Christiana Care in Wilmington, DE. He continues to volunteer his expertise as a member of CHANCE, an organization offering ENT care to the underserved of Zambia in central Africa.
In addition to this specialized training in ear surgery and ear related conditions, Dr Seymour also treats sinonasal conditions, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, throat and tonsil diseases and sleep apnea. He is board certified in otolaryngology and holds medical licenses from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Board of Otolaryngology, the American Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr Seymour is an active staff physician at Portsmouth Regional Hospital and York Hospital and affiliate staff at Mass Eye and Ear.
Dr Seymour and his wife (a fellow graduate of the Siena/Albany Medical College program and practicing Gastroenterologist) can often be found on the sidelines of a sporting event for one of their 4 children. When not there he enjoys golfing, skiing, and spending time enjoying the beautiful lakes and mountains of New Hampshire and Maine with his family.
